What is Stop the Bleed?
Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Like CPR training, Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
Training Objectives:
- Recognize life-threatening bleeding.
- Understand basic physiology and anatomy of trauma with excessive blood loss.
- Understand the immediate response to locate and control bleeding.
- Understand and practice appropriate ways to stop/slow the bleeding.
- Understand and be able to apply several bleeding control tools and methods, to include direct pressure, tourniquets, and wound packing.
The Health Department is closed Saturdays and the doors are locked. MRC Coordinator or volunteer will be at the back entrance to let volunteers in.
Parking: Available in the parking lot directly behind the Health Department.
