Project Overview: Community Navigator Program
The Community Navigator program is a cultural bridge between communities and the Health Department, promoting health and wellness in ways that align with the unique needs and values of the community. The populations of focus include communities that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, communities that speak underrepresented languages, rural communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people with disabilities. The Health Department hosts monthly meetings with their partners to engage them in public health topics, prioritize cultural, social, and historical contexts, and co-create public health messaging that truly resonates with the communities served.
